Progress On Current Read: The Eyes of Darkness

I'm up to chapter 16. The reading I did last night and the night before was during the commerical breaks of Ochocinco:The Ultimate Catch on Sunday night and Money Hungry and Scream Queens last night.

By the way, after two months of not getting to participate in any of Bookcrossing's read-a-thons, I will be participating in the one that starts this Friday and ends the following Thursday night. I can't make any promises as to how much reading I will be getting done given the various activities I normally do during the week, but maybe I'll hit the 24-hour mark for once.

Progress On Current Read: The Eyes of Darkness

Thursday, I did some reading the The Eyes of Darkness while waiting for some laundry to get done.  I didn't get any done yesterday, though.

Today, I finished up a chapter that I had left off on. The next chapter I have to read next is chapter12.

Progress On Current Read: The Eyes of Darkness

I'm sorry that I haven't given a recent progress report on my reading. There was one day that I didn't read, but I made it up. The next chapter I have to read is chapter nine. I will likely do that tonight. If you don't hear from me tonight, I'll try to post tomorrow.

Progress On Current Read: The Eyes of Darkness

I read chapter 3 in The Eyes of Darkness this morning.  I don't normally go into details about what I'm reading, but I kind of want to.

The main character is a dancer named Tina Evans whose son (from a marriage that didn't work out) Danny died over a year ago in a bus accident. She sees a boy in the beginning who looks very much like him.

She put off clearing out Danny's room for a while but finally decides she would get to it. At some point before that, there was some writing on his easel that said Not Dead. She's not sure what the deal is with that. Also, at the end of chapter three, she can't bring herself to go back into his room.

That's where I'm at. I may or may not read more later.

I Can Be Contacted Via Email...For Now

I am finally in a position to where I can send my copy of Push Comes To Shove to whoever would like it. The person who had sent it to me said that they had gotten it with strings attached, that it was part of some promotion via Concord press where they were expected to give away money to charity. The copy in question is also registered with Bookcrossing, and the person who had the book before me was concerned that anyone who got the book might be confused and think that participating in Bookcrossing would require giving money to charity.  I apologize if I confused anyone reading this.

I don't want to put pressure on whoever I send the book to to give away money. However, I'll probably donate a little somewhere.

Having said that, I have temporarily edited my profile so that anyone who wishes to contact me via email can do so. (It's the "email" link under "contact".) I will also be offering the book via a couple of other sites I'm involved in, so I don't know how long the book will be available. I'll let you all know when I have someone who can take the book off my hands.

Progress On Current Read: The Eyes of Darkness

I've finally done the first bit of RAB-PIA reading since my return home. I have read the first chapter of The Eyes of Darkness. I may or may not read more later.

New Reading List For RAB-PIA

Now that I am home, I am able to access the books that had been waiting for me all summer.  The first book I will be reading is The Eyes of Darkness by Dean Koontz.  The rest of the list is as follows:

Sweet Hannah Rose by Lori Copeland
The Promise by Danielle Steel
The Passing Bells by Phillip Rock
The Winter Widow by Charlene Weir
The Outlaw's Bride by Liz Ireland
The Seance by Heather Graham.

That is my premiere list for RAB-PIA season 2. As usual, I will be making various updates regarding the progress of whatever book I am on plus any other books added to the list.

Last Season On RAB-PIA...

I kicked off RAB-PIA with a reading list of consisting of my then copy of A Death in the Family by James Agee that I was reading at the time plus six other books that were waiting to be read. I would post periodic progress reports on whatever book I was on until I finished it. If I was involved in a read-a-thon, I'd mention that too.

Because of the weather at the time, I wasn't able to do any releases until the thirteenth, at which time release three. I usually released at either a park near my house or the local Memorial Auditorium.

My reading list would change whenever I released books or got new ones. Most of the books I had on my list were ones I bought from a thrift store. though there were a couple of exceptions There was one book though, called The Accidental Vampire that I got from redeeming some points in a survey site I was registered with. I got another one, Push Comes To Shove, in the mail all the way from Scotland.

In May, I went out of town for family reasons and took my then TBR pile with me. After I finished a book, I would release it at my earliest available opportunity.

The last book I had read in season one was Barefoot. The season ended when I ran out of books to read and release and was in no position to access any more...

RAB-PIA Season 2 To Premiere This Saturday Or This Sunday Barring Unforseen Circumtances

As it turns out I will be going home tomorrow, which means I will once again have access to books I can register with Bookcrossing, list on this blog, read, and release.

If I'm unable to make any updates tomorrow for some reason, I will try to do it on Sunday or on the earliest day possible beginning with a recap of last season and a new list of books to be read.

For anyone who has been here at any time during my haitus, thank you for your patience. I'll see you all soon.

RAB-PIA Season 2 To Begin Next Week (Maybe)

I just now found out that I will likely be returning to my own home this coming weekend. If I do, I will once again have more books to register, read, and release as of next week.  I will let you know if that ends up changing.
