I started on The Love Killers last night reading only the first chapter. That took five minutes, which put my reading time total from yesterday to five hours and 18 minutes. The rest of it, which I read this afternoon, took me 2 hours and 23 minutes. That means I read a total of 8 hours and one minute. That means I have 15 hours and 59 minutes to go before hitting the 24 hours.
The next book I will be reading is Rogue's Reward by Jean R. Ewing, which is one of eight books I had bought from Doggie Bag.

Most Productive Day Of Reading In A While
I'm involved with Bookcrossing's latest read-a-thon. I didn't get any reading done yesterday. However, I set myself a goal to read four hours a day for the rest of the time as the basic goal is to accumulate twenty-four hours of reading. For my four hours, I read more of Tender Savage. After four hours came and went, I decided to finish what was left of the book. I managed to finish the book and get in five hours and thirteen minutes which means I have 18 hours and 47 minutes to go.
Since I am done with Tender Savage, I will need to prepare it for release. I will likely release it on Monday. The place has yet to be determined.
The next book I will be reading will be The Love Killers by Jackie Collins.

First Sentence On The Last Chapter I Read
Okay, so once in a while, Bookcrossing will have a thread in their "Book Talk" forum asking for the first sentence of the first book one is reading at the time. One such example can be found here.
I've noticed that, as of late, I haven't had much to say beyond how far along I am on a book, so I'm going to shake things up a bit and give the first sentence of whatever chapter or chapters I've read that day.
For instance, today I read chapter three in Tender Savage. Here's the first sentence:
"Gunter had dropped his sack of wood scraps and bolted before she could reach him and Erica can do no more than pray he had been so mortified by what he had seen he would not rush straight home to tell his mother."
Erica, by the way is the main female in the book.

Progress on Current Read
I made it through chapter two in Tender Savage this afternoon. I don't know if I will be reading more of it tonight or not. I will likely read more of it this weekend.

Progress on Current Read
Today, I started on the book, Tender Savage by Phoebe Conn. I got through the prologue and chapter one.
Released 'The Persian Boy'
I've released my copy of The Persian Boy on a picnic table at Lincoln Park. It was kind of a nice day today. Maybe in the warmer months, I'll do more of my releases outdoors.
Sometime today, I'll be getting in at least the first chapter of Tender Savage.

Finished The Persian Boy
Well, I finally finished The Persian Boy today. I read it a little before and after dinner. (Right now, I'm watching Billy Madison.) So, it's officially in the "To Pass Along" category until I release it (which hopefully will be tomorrow). The next book up for reading is Tender Savage by Phoebe Conn.
There are days when I haven't done any RAB-PIA. I think I will try to read at least one full chapter per day on whatever book I'm reading until I finish it.

Got In Another Chapter In 'The Persian Boy'
I've gotten a bit behind on my reading for some reason. I'm up to chapter 21 in The Persian Boy. Maybe what I need to do is get in at least one chapter every single day. That way, I'm always closer to getting through a book.

Started Yet Another Blog
This doesn't really pertain to RAB-PIA, but I just wanted to let you all know that I just started a new blog called On The Road To The Rest Of My Life. It's basically intended to chronicle my life as a college graduate regarding things like, family, career (or lack thereof), religious life, altruistic efforts, etc. I only have one post so far about what has happened with me so far, but there will be more to come.

After A Few Days Of Not Reading For RAB-PIA...
I finally got further along on The Persian Boy. I'm up to chapter 20 on it. I'm going to make sure I keep on top of the reading so that I can get to the other books on my reading list. As you can probably tell from the sidebar, I've got several waiting to be read.
By the way, do you remember when I mentioned that I had bought some books from a thrift store called Doggie Bag? Well, on Wednesday, I put in an application to volunteer there. I was able to talk to the person in charge of that stuff. On Monday, barring anything unforseen, I'll be going in for an orientation. My schedule from there has yet to be determined.

Failed The Read-A-Thon
I had noted a read-a-thon that I was involved in over the past week. I didn't get anywhere near the 24 hours that it called for, especially given some of the stuff I had to do over the past week, such as attend a funeral on Tuesday and seek out a job application on Wednesday.
Oh, well, there's always next time, right?

Got A New Book In The Mail
I've been involved with an online survey panel known as Zoom Panel for quite a few years. In said panel, one takes surveys for a certain amount of points. Over time, said points accumulate and can be "cashed in" for a prize of one's choice (and different prizes cost different numbers of points). About a week or so ago, I cashed in some of my points for a book called The Accidental Vampire: An Argeneau Novel. I got it a few minutes ago when I was out checking the mail. This is the first time I have gotten a free book online. There's been one other site I had gone to called Crown Publishing where one can request certain books for free. I requested all three that were being offered. The supply of these is limited, and as the distribution is based on random selection, some requests end up being denied. That has been the case with one of my selections so far, but better luck next time, right?
Where was I? Oh yeah, my new book that I got. I will be adding it to my reading list to read and eventually release.

Released 'The Pursuit of Marriage'
I released my copy of The Pursuit of Marriage at Fresinus Medical Center near the local Cato, Big Lots, etc. It is on a table in the waiting room. I don't normally release stuff there, but I figure I'd step out of my comfort zone a bit this time.

Read-a-thon Progress Days 4-5, Progress On Current Read And A New Addition To The Reading List
Last night, I got in 16 minutes of reading time. Today, while on the way over to Osawatamie for my step-great-grandmother's funeral (may she rest in peace) and on the way back, I got in a total of 1 hour and 51 minutes. So, I've got 4 hours and 53 minutes accumulated for the read-a-thon. (I don't know if I will make it to 24 though, what with the things I have to go around and do in the next couple of days.) I was hoping to get The Pursuit of Marriage released today, but I had no such luck. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
Right now, I am on chapter 16 of The Persian Boy. I may or may not get that chapter finished tonight.
Sometime after the funeral and lunch, the family all went over to SGGM's house and looked through her stuff. I started looking around for her book collection at some point. However, shortly after having found it, it was time to go home. I did however, manage to get one book from the collection. It's called Lost Horizon by James Hilton. It has been added to my reading list as of today.

Read-a-thon Progress for Day 3
I only got in 19 minutes of The Persian Boy last night. I'll probably get in some reading today. (The weather makes it almost impossible to safely go out and do anything.)
Tomorrow, I have a funeral to attend out of town. Since I'm not going to be the one driving, I'll likely take The Persian Boy with me to read if not on the way over (since I'll have to leave especially early) then at least on the way back. I think I'll also take my copy of The Pursuit of Marriage with me in case I get a chance to slip away and release it somewhere. (Or maybe there will be a relative there who might be interested.)
